NEET (UG) 2027, the entrance exam for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other medical courses in India, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The official date has not been announced yet. This page shows what is known, what to expect from past years, and how to use the months before the exam.

What to expect
- In 2023, 2024 and 2025 NEET (UG) was held on the first Sunday of May. If NTA keeps to that, NEET 2027 would fall in early May 2027, but treat this as a guide only: the official date is the one in the NTA bulletin.
- NTA usually releases the bulletin with the registration form, so start keeping documents ready: Class 10 and 12 details, a recent photograph and signature, and category certificates if they apply.
NEET (UG) paper pattern
- 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions in 3 hours, for 720 marks: Physics 45, Chemistry 45 and Biology 90 (Botany and Zoology).
- Marking: +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong answer and 0 for an unanswered question.
- The exam has been a pen-and-paper (OMR) test; NTA confirms the mode for each year in its bulletin.
How to use the months before NEET 2027
- November to February: finish the NCERT syllabus and take one subject test per subject each week to find weak chapters.
- March onwards: one full 180-question mock a week, in a single 3-hour sitting at the same time of day as the exam, on an OMR-style sheet.
- After every mock, review each wrong and skipped question and note whether it was a concept gap, a slip or a time problem.

When is the NEET 2027 exam?
NTA has not announced it yet (as of 2 November 2026). In 2023 to 2025 NEET (UG) was held on the first Sunday of May; the official date will be in the NTA information bulletin on neet.nta.nic.in.
When will NEET 2027 registration start?
NTA has not announced it. In recent years registration has opened in February, together with the information bulletin.
How many questions are there in NEET (UG)?
180 compulsory questions for 720 marks: 45 Physics, 45 Chemistry and 90 Biology, marked +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one.
